Ratchet Strap

A ratchet strap holds cargo firmly in place in transit, on trucks, trailers and pick-ups. It secures machinery, building materials, farm produce, furniture and general goods, reducing the risk of loads shifting or falling on the road.

The model we carry is 2 inches wide and 10 metres long, made from 100% polyester that is strong and hard-wearing, with a maximum load of 5 tonnes. It has metal J-hooks at the ends and a ratchet tensioner that pulls the strap tight and is easy to operate.

Before each use, check the webbing for cuts, burns or fraying, and make sure the hooks and ratchet are not bent. Hook onto solid anchor points on the vehicle, lay the strap flat against the load without twisting it, then work the ratchet until the strap is tight. Keep the webbing off sharp edges, and re-check the tension a short way into the journey.
